Our Story

Canababes is a female-led catering company, founded in the heart of East London, and inspired by insatiable appetites for social situations and delicious tasting food! Canababes recipes are influenced by the dynamic, constantly evolving food scene around them. Now with over 15 years of experience in fine dining, street food, and wedding events, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a more upbeat and reliable catering company for your event.

Our offering is ethical, dynamic, and delicious. We use British farms & fisheries and higher welfare produce wherever possible to have minimal impact on the environment. We are intentionally considerate of our social and environmental footprint and believe that food can be wonderful without negatively impacting people or the planet. 

Vegetables come from Ted’s Veg, all meat is native-breed from Swaledale, fresh fish is sustainably sourced from The Cornish Fishmonger in Cornwall and smoked fish from Lambton & Jackson in Essex.

We use bio-plant starch disposables and recycle our food waste with First Mile.

Our Team

From the event managers to the chefs, every dedicated team member has been hand-picked by us. They’re people who bring a bit of extra personality to the event and deliver a friendly, attentive and professional customer experience. 


Founder / Director
Katie thinks about the big picture. She's a forward thinker with 20 years in the industry and a love of all things food and events.


Head Chef
Ben's repertoire is unmatched, his creativity with ingredients is only rivalled by his curated kitchen playlists. Classically trained in France and over 30 years culinary experience.


David has an eye for detail, great taste and endless patience in the kitchen. He is our inhouse vegan consultant.


Sales Manager
Ezinné knows exactly how to realise your ideas! She works closely with the chefs to determine best menus for your guests and what it will take to make your event happen.


Event & Operations Manager
Hattie makes it her business to know everything about your event, the logisitcs and the fine points. Everything that it takes for an event to run smoothly and your guests to leave happy.


A devil for detail and baking extraordinaire, Gloria brings her love of food to every plate and her singing voice to our kitchen.
